On July 17, 2009, Dana Point, California, yacht broker Ed Fitzgerald disappeared, an event that baffled the citizens of Dana Point and the boating community in Dana Point Harbor. Fitzgerald had been a popular figure for more than 25 years.

But, it appears that Fitzgerald left voluntarily owing somewhere in the neighborhood of $3 million to as many as 40 victims. As of June 17, 2011, He is still on the lam.

For two years, Tom Blake has worked on a book about the scandal. The book has been published as an Ebook, an electronic book that you download to your computer or reading device. The book can be your hands in a matter of minutes.

Half of the profits from the sale of this book will go into a victims’ fund that has already been established.

I had a great deal of cooperation from victims and friends of Fitzgerald who were as shocked at what he did as I was. Four single moms, trying to earn a decent return on their investments, were swindled out of $600,000.

The Orange County, California Sheriff investor has concluded her investigation and now the case is in the hands of the Orange County District Attorney. I did not want to interfere with the official investigation so I notified the deputy D.A. who is now handling it and asked him to review the manuscript. He did and gave me permission to publish the book. The D.A. will determine whether to press charges, drop the case, or return it to the Sheriff for more information. A decision could be coming soon.

I even had to get permission from Dog the Bounty Hunter to use his name in the opening chapter.

Hopefully, this book is just the beginning of justice being served. Please forward this email to people whom you think might be interested in the Fitzgerald scandal.

The book is available only as an EBook at this time. It is available on Amazon.com and http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/3193. Save a copy to your computer but please do not share your copy of the book as we want to sell as many copies as possible to benefit the victims. You may print out a copy but the book is more than 100 pages. The cost to download the book is $6.99. When you purchase the book, you are helping the victims.
